Room to Read seeks a Director of Grants Management who values their mission and is inspired to do their best work when in pursuit of the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children®. The Director of Grants Management role is a leadership position on the Global Partnerships team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Partnerships, this position oversees a team of four grant writing professionals located in both San Francisco and New York. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Room to Read’s mission, vision, and values. Strong writing skills and demonstrated success in securing six- and seven-figure grants from corporations, foundations, and individual donors at both a national and international level is required.
Serving as an integral member of the International Business Development and Communications Department, the ideal candidate will have experience implementing policies and procedures to create an understanding of, and appreciation for, the proposal process and its impact on an organization. They will serve as a partner to program staff and development colleagues to ensure timely, engaging, and accurate reporting to funders. A keen attention to detail is expected, as is a high level of collaboration and flexibility.
The Director will work closely with the Development and the program country teams to assist in securing at least $20 million USD of direct support from corporations and foundations globally and an additional $6 to $10 million USD from bilateral and multilateral funders as well as in-kind support. Candidates who are strategic, thoughtful, and action-oriented will thrive in this role.
