Resident Senior Manager for Operations and Compliance: Ukraine

The National Democratic Institute (NDI) seeks a Resident Senior Operations and Compliance Manager who, in coordination with program staff, will manage all reporting, administration, procurement, financial management, HR, and operations functions of the Institute’s Kyiv office.

Staff Attorney

KIND seeks a Staff Attorney for KIND’S Mexico Initiative, which will engage in cross-border efforts to provide unaccompanied children with initial legal orientations, protection screenings, and options counseling in collaboration with civil society and government-run shelters for unaccompanied children. Based in Ciudad Juárez, México, the Staff Attorney works alongside a Managing Attorney and Program Coordinator and will focus primarily on identification, screenings and intake, options counseling, and know-your-rights orientations to unaccompanied children.

The Staff Attorney helps build engagement and coordination with local coalitions of service providers. S/he may plan and assist in overseeing the activities of bono attorneys and other volunteers deployed to the border to assist in protecting the rights of unaccompanied children attempting to access protection. This position is housed in KIND’s Legal Strategy and Special Programs (SSP) team and reports into the Managing Attorney.

The Staff Attorney supervises Paralegals, Program Assistants, Program Coordinators, interns, and/or other non-legal staff.

International Program Senior Specialist – PHIA

The International Program Senior Specialist optimizes the day-to-day business operations of the University of Maryland Baltimore’s (UMB) special projects in sub-Saharan Africa, primarily Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These responsibilities are accomplished by applying theoretical knowledge, principles, and concepts to the practical management of the operational activities of UMB’s affiliates and branches. This position is expected to provide solutions to complex challenges, prioritize critical requests and needs from the field offices, and support compliance with policies and procedures. Responsible for efficient and effective solutions by independently analyzing the current international operations, identifying internal client needs, creating reports, developing improvement plans, and assisting country offices in implementing changes.

The Senior Advisor, Organizational Capacity Building, will provide capacity development support for local organizations partnering with CIHEB to operate as fully independent, strategically positioned prime recipients of U.S. Government and other sponsor funds.

Staff Attorney

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, (the Campaign) is a leader in the fight to reduce tobacco use and its devastating consequences in the United States and around the world. It is the principal policy advocacy organization devoted primarily to countering the lethal influence of the tobacco industry on public policy.
The Campaign seeks a Staff Attorney to engage in cutting-edge legal and policy advocacy, and related litigation. Based in Washington, D.C. and reporting to the Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Affairs, the Staff Attorney will provide legal and policy support for regulation of the tobacco industry, including e-cigarettes, by the Food and Drug Administration, as well as state and local tobacco control efforts. The Staff Attorney will play a leading role in high-profile litigation related to FDA regulation of tobacco products and the legal defense of state and local tobacco control laws, including the preparation of amicus briefs. At least 6 years of predominately litigation experience, is required.
