Communications Manager

Sustaining Technical and Analytic Resources (STAR) is a project of the Public Health Institute (PHI) supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Global Health (GH) Bureau. Through individual fellowships, internships, management consulting, and global technical assistance for COVID-19, STAR helps strengthen the capacity of diverse American and LMIC public health professionals and institutions at all levels to make innovative contributions to global health (GH). STAR’s individual and institutional participants are contributing to the development of self-sustaining systems and tools that will produce global citizens with the full spectrum of relevant health competencies.

The Communications Manager is responsible for providing strategic communications support to the STAR project. They will define and coordinate the implementation of communications strategies/plans/campaigns to increase STAR’s visibility and value to target audiences and amplify STAR’s work. They will manage and maintain STAR’s website and social media presence and work in close collaboration with project staff to maintain a consistent STAR voice, brand image, and compliance with donor policies throughout all project communications. The Communications Manager will work in close collaboration with the STAR Senior Management Team under the supervision of the Deputy Program Director for Participant Support.

Senior Global Operations Specialist

The Sustaining Technical and Analytical Resources (STAR) is a five-year cooperative agreement implemented and managed by the Public Health Institute in partnership with John Hopkins University, the University of California San Francisco, and the Consortium of Universities in Global Health. STAR will improve the effectiveness of global health programs worldwide by developing and strengthening the capacity of global health professionals. Leveraging the expertise, resources, and partnerships of academic institutions and the private sector, STAR will also contribute to building the capacity of institutions in developing countries that provide technical leadership and to improving systems that promote technical collaboration across the global health community.

STAR seeks to strengthen the technical and analytic professional cadre of human resources for global health through placing fellows and interns in external institutions and also within USAID, primarily in partnerships with institutions of higher learning, development research organizations, and health professional associations.

Safety & Security Specialist

HIAS seeks a Safety & Security Specialist to support the Safety & Security department in developing and maintaining safety and security programs, plans, policies and procedures within HIAS’ global and domestic offices. The preferred candidate is passionate about HIAS’ mission and has a demonstrated interest in international development and professional/academic experience in international relations, international security, humanitarian contexts or similar. S/he works as part of a small team delivering best practices in safety and security risk management for HIAS staff, assets, and programming in the United States and internationally.

General Counsel

Reporting to the CEO, the General Counsel (GC) is a key member of Mercy Corps’ Executive Team and provides legal leadership across the organization. The GC is responsible for all legal affairs, including contracts, negotiations, structuring and compliance issues, corporate governance, enterprise risk management, intellectual property, commercial agreements and transactions, litigation management, employment matters and international entity formation. Mercy Corps works in over 40 countries, many of which are complex and where the application of the rule of law is inconsistent. Mercy Corps also conducts significant operations in conflict zones in proximity to Designated Terrorist Organizations (DTOs). The GC is responsible for guiding Mercy Corps’ approach to working in these complex areas to ensure we achieve our mission while remaining compliant with relevant law and regulation. The GC will also oversee the legal department and work with outside counsel.


The Editorial Coordinator will coordinate the production of a range of published materials and edit Forum products, including papers, blogs, issue briefs, and other written materials.


The Assistant Program Officer (APO) will assist with the management, administration, development and expansion of grant programs in Turkey.

Regional Director, Social Services (West)

KIND seeks a full-time Regional Director, Social Services (West) to join the Social Services program in the provision of Trauma Informed and Culturally Responsive services to migrant and refugee children. The Regional Director of Social Services works under the supervision of the Senior Director of Social Services and in collaboration with the Legal Services team in an interdisciplinary model providing direct oversight to the West Coast Field offices and programs working with detained youth. This position will have both internal and external facing responsibilities ranging from direct supervision of Social Service Coordinators, data tracking and evaluation, program policies and guideline development, consultation and training as well as strategic program planning. S/he also liaises with external partners including donors, funders, and the ORR facilities and disseminate best practices and social service needs of clients. This role reports into the Senior Director, Social Services.

This position will be based in one of the following KIND cities: Houston, Los Angeles, Fresno, San Francisco, or Seattle.
